  1. Shred potatoes with a cheese grater.

  2. Rinse the shredded potatoes in cold water until no more starch comes out
    (≈2 rinses).

  3. Dry the potatoes as well as possible with paper towels.

  4. Melt the butter over medium-high heat and fry the potatoes until golden and crispy (≈10 min).
